End of April and we thought the spring was warming up... and then!! Its blooming chilly! All the crops are waiting for a watering - really need rain. Some crops have slowed right up due to chilly night and many are waiting in the wings for rain before they are ready to crop. Thank you for cramming so many orders into a short Bank holiday week! Phewee...!! and lovely to see the start of new products coming through - perfect for the up and coming Church Flower Festivals and these demonstrations and talks I seem to have crammed into April! Lovely mini gathering this week to inspire the local arrangers to try some planet friendly designs for the festivals and its off to the NAFAS Demonstrators Symposium tomorrow and then again to another NAFAS talk on Best of British next week! Hope you’ve all had a chance to recover after Mothers Day. I’ve got a busy weekend ahead — set up for Farmers Market, play date at a Flower Club Workshop & GFG mini conference I decided on my birthday last week that I need to get out more so here we go! Hope you all had a busy weekend and kudos to those of you opting out of Mother's Day and doing weddings - you have nerves of steel! - with all the complications of imported products recently it certainly has not been without challenges! The consensus is that many consumers left Mother's Day to the very last minute - most florists receiving a flurry of orders late in the week or even at the weekend. Many large shops putting the brakes on with in answerphone messages, banners on websites and social media posts. Seems many consumers 'simply forgot' too much...

Where there's flowers there is hope - and let us hope as much as we can for the current situation worldwide to improve. Last week we donated some boxes of Daffodils to brighten up some dull days and give a bit more hope to communities across the UK.
